Wrexham has very few second homes: the Welsh Government's 2026/27 returns show only 63, against 481 chargeable empty homes. In 2023/24 the empty-homes premium raised £216,541 from 531 properties. The council says premium income supports homelessness prevention, anti-poverty work and sustainable communities. Owners can apply for an empty property loan to bring a home back into use.
